I earned my undergraduate degree from San Diego State University in youth theatre and my graduate degree from California State University in interdisciplinary studies. I have a very strong background in both communication and the arts and I believe it has given me the foundation necessary to work with students from a unique perspective. I endeavor to make learning engaging and fun and to help each of my students improve their own communication skills so they are better able to pursue their passions in live. My favorite subject to tutor has to be writing. It is a privilege to help each of my students how to authentically and compellingly share their voice with the world. When one embraces the power of writing, it becomes possible to let your personal style shine through when discussing any topic. This propels their academic career forward but it also becomes a meaningful tool for their own self expression. Some of the courses I tutor include reading, writing, essay editing, public speaking, elementary math, algebra, creative writing, pre-algebra, persuasive writing, expository writing, fiction writing, technical writing, theatre, and middle school math. I enjoy working with students of all ability levels in grades K-12. I truly believe that academic achievement is possible for each student, no matter where their starting point lies.
